Hidden From Blackout

is a one-person studio based music project that reaches out through musical minimalism into emotional
connections, like memories that are almost attainable, but are never quite within reach.

Rick McDonough (guitar, samples, vocals, lyrics and studio production) composes and manipulates sounds,
textures and melodious hooks, creating a multi-colored skein of evocative music, wrapped in selectively placed
ethereal vocals, ultimately inspired by the reflectivity of the human experience.

The music subtly induces reflections, self-contemplation, and a healthy sense of anticipation, while creating a
space for the listener to examine the music like the elements within their own lives. McDonough's manifestations
reach and sift through the depth of experience and are ultimately articulated with sincerity and purity in a
fashion that is seemingly cinematic.
Careful thought coupled with sensitivity go into the execution of each individual beat and sound to reflect what
one feels to be true. McDonough's music comes from a perspective that is fed by his studies in literature, music
and photography.
He is responsive to the art, placing it first, allowing passion to guide and letting the individual pieces speak the
whole into existence. Like thick, billowing clouds on an overcast day appearing ready to explode at any given
moment, the music contains a depth, a movement, a tension making the listener consider their perspective in
relation to the experience.
